A Study on How AI-enabled Immersive Situation Creation Promotes Primary School Students' Writing

Abstract

The new curriculum standard points out that Chinese learning should take place in real life situations. Writing is a key way for students to express themselves, and it is also an important and difficult part of Chinese teaching. At present, primary school writing classes have many common problems. The situations created in class are simple and disconnected. Students cannot fully get involved in learning. There is no effective support for interactive activities, and many students do not know what to write. This study takes AI-enabled immersive situation creation as the starting point, and analyzes its internal working mechanism to improve primary school students' writing ability. Considering the creative nature of writing, this paper explains how AI-enabled immersive situation creation rebuilds the writing environment from three aspects: activating life experience, building meaning and making dynamic adjustments. This study also sets up the AI-SIF Model, namely AI-powered Immersive Situation-Interaction-Feedback Model. The model has three core parts: intelligent situation building, human-computer interaction and real-time feedback and adjustment. The three parts work together to form a complete support system. It can provide learning contexts, help students finish writing and improve the whole learning process. Based on the AI-SIF Model, this paper puts forward some suggestions for teaching practice. First, teachers should put situation design in the first place and focus on the whole learning process and creative results. Second, classroom interaction should encourage participation of all members, produce new ideas and drive deep learning. Third, teachers need to take new roles as designers, guides and regulators.
